Troop Meeting
Team Building Games
Hello Troop 11 Scouts & Families!
On Monday, the Rankin family graciously hosted our Troop again at their home with a fire to keep us warm during our last meeting of March, a very freezing one surprisingly. The year is already flying by and we are all very proud of every parent and scout who has adjusted to our rotating meeting area schedule these past several weeks. Regarding a permanent meeting location, Troop 11 adult leadership has a meeting with the City of Stamford tomorrow for approval on meeting at Fort Stamford, an outdoor and indoor meeting space that has a rich history. We look forward to hopefully be able to meet here very soon!
Monday’s meeting was run and organized by Life Scout Michael Schiffman, who creatively came up with a medical-kit creation adventure where patrols were engaged to create first aid kits while following a story about being stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean. Scouts shared the reasoning for choosing the items in their kits and repeated this as the story followed. Many scouts were able to get two requirements signed off from this meeting while also taking their own kit home, so a huge thank you to Mike for coming up with a shopping list and plan for this meeting.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
APRIL TRIP: Appalachian Trail Hike (More details soon!)
MAY 13 - 15: CONNJAM - State-wide Scouting Jamboree in Orange, CT. Troop 11 builds and oversees a giant monkey rope bridge, so mark the dates in your calendar! Participation in this weekend-long jamboree is highly recommended as there is a very large range of activities to enjoy.
While we hope to meet at Fort Stamford very soon, please be on the lookout for any further information regarding upcoming trips and important notices. Have a great week everyone!
Best,
Michael Faherty
