DESCRIPTION:
The Annual Troop 11 Ski trip is planned for February 4-5\, 2
023 at Mount Snow in Vermont.
\n
This trip is one of the highlights o
f the year and many scouts will tell you this is their single most favorit
e trip of the year. Once again we will be skiing at Mount Snow and staying
at the West Dover Congregational Church.
\n
We will leave Friday Feb
3 at 4:00PM. We will stop for dinner at Five Guys in Springfield\, Mass a
nd then continue to Vermont. We stay at the West Dover Congregational Chur
ch and sleep on cots in the church basement…..it is a lot nicer than it so
unds as there is a full kitchen\, bathroom with shower and a big flat scre
en TV. We will ski Saturday and Sunday and return home early Sunday evenin
g. As the church sleeps 30 people\, family members are welcome to attend o
nce all the scouts are accommodated.
\n
The cost for the trip will be
$250 for youth and $305 for adults. This price includes a 2-day all-mount
ain lift ticket\, 2 nights of lodging\, 3 meals on Saturday and 2 meals on
Sunday. If you are an Epic pass holder the lift ticket cost will be deduc
ted from the price of the trip. Equipment rentals and ski/snowboard lesson
s can be purchased directly from the Mount Snow website. Everyone must wea
r a helmet. First time skiers/snowboarders are welcome to attend\, however
they MUST take a lesson or have a dedicated parent/other designated adult
accompany them on the mountain. If you are planning on taking a lesson it
is recommended you book the lesson ASAP as they do sell out and we have h
ad many scouts get shut out of lessons in the past.
\n
A sign-up geni
us will be distributed. The deadline to sign up will be February 1 as the
Troop will need to purchase food for the weekend. If you cancel after Feb
1 you will be responsible for the cost of meals and lodging ($65).
\n
Also this is a great opportunity for scouts to work on the Snowsports mer
it badge. While at Mount Snow\, scouts can complete the on-snow portion of
the badge and can complete the off-snow portion of the badge at other tim
es. Please let any of the adult leaders know if you want to work on the me
rit badge.
\n
Hope you will attend. Any of the boys will tell you\, t
he apres-ski back at the church afterwards is half the fun.
\n
Please
let me know if you have any questions.
\n
Thanks\,
\n
Mr. Ranki
